For one long weekend, venues across the city will host an exciting programme of live comedy, including stand-up shows, Edinburgh preview performances, interactive dining experiences and family-friendly workshops. Whether you're planning a Friday night out, a Saturday showcase with friends, or daytime comedy for younger audiences, there’s something for every taste and budget.
Laura Smyth is a comedian, actor and writer hailing from East London.
Her debut stand-up tour Living My Best Life played 48 dates nationwide, culminating in a third and final London show at the Indigo O2.
TV appearances include David Mitchell’s Outsiders, Cats Does Countdown, Live At The Apollo, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, The Jonathan Ross Show, Richard Osman’s House of Games, The Weakest Link, QI, Saturday Kitchen, Between the Covers, As Yet Untitled, Would I Lie To You and hosting the London heat of the BBC New Comedy Awards two years running,
Laura’s BBC Radio 4 comedy special I Don’t Know What to Say, which she wrote and performed, won The Gold Prize Comedy Award at the 2024 ARIAS, and was subsequently shortlisted for a BBC Audio Drama Award for Best Stand-Up show.
Laura hosts BBC Radio 4 comedy-entertainment series Your Mum, the first series guests include Iain Stirling, Kiri Pritchard Mclean, Arlene Phillips and Jo Brand. The series was quickly commissioned for series 2
Hit podcast Shouldn’t Laugh But is released weekly and joins Laura with her best mate Carmen as they let their intrusive thoughts win and laugh at all the things they know they shouldn’t, as they mull over all the daft things that happened to them and others across the week.
